UFC 194: McGregor and Rockhold become New Champions

It only took Conor McGregor 13 seconds to become the new featherweight champion of the world, knocking out Jose Aldo with a straight left punch in doing so.
Meanwhile in the co-main event it took Luke Rockhold 4 rounds to dispatch of the former middleweight champion Chris Weidman via a TKO stoppage after putting on a classic brutal ‘Rockhold’ fight to become the new Middleweight Champion.

UFC 194 was finally upon us, where the only featherweight champion the UFC has ever known, Jose Aldo will be defending his title for the eighth time meeting the Interim title holder in that of Conor McGregor at Las Vegas’ MGM Grand.

It only took Conor McGregor 13 seconds to become the new featherweight champion of the world, knocking out Jose Aldo with a straight left punch in doing so. It was not going to be long time reigning champ Jose Aldo’s night, but the night belonged to New featherweight champion Conor Mcgregor.

Meanwhile in the co-main event it took Luke Rockhold 4 rounds to dispatch of the former middleweight champion Chris Weidman via a TKO stoppage after putting on a classic ‘Rockhold’ fight to become the new Middleweight Champion. 

Max Holloway showed why he is just getting better and better with each fight by gaining a clear dominant points wind over Jeremy Stephens.

In what will be a should be a great grappling matchup we see Demian Maia take on Gunnar Nelson in a welterweight bout, whilst Max Holloway and Jeremy Stephens is one to watch for in the striking and fireworks department who meet in featherweight division. With the only change coming to this amazing card in the form of Jocelyn Jones-Lybarger, who replaces the injured Michelle Waterson who will face Tecia Torres in the women’s strawweight division.

UFC 185: FREE FIGHT; Carla Esparza vs. Rose Namajunas


 

Re acquaint yourself with the former Invicta FC strawweight champion, Carla Esparza who has widely been considered to be the top 115-pound fighter in the world, and she didn’t disappoint on The Ultimate Fighter 20, defeating Angela Hill, Tecia Torres, and Jessica Penne to earn a spot in the finals tonight against Rose Namajunas.

Carla Esparza defends her belt for the first time, this Saturday, March 14th at UFC 185 against Joanna Jedrzejczyk.

INVICTA FC SIGNS HISTORIC CONTENT DEAL WITH UFC FIGHT PASS


Invicta FC the all female WMMA promotion has signed a deal with UFC Fight Pass to stream all of their content on the UFC Fight Pass digital streaming service.

The Ultimate Fighting Championship and Invicta Fighting Championships are excited to announce that UFCFIGHTPASS.com, the UFC’s digital streaming service, is now the exclusive digital broadcaster of the world’s leading all-female MMA organization.

UFC FIGHT PASS chief content officer Marshall Zelaznik said: “This is a historic multi-year, multi-event deal. When we launched UFC FIGHT PASS last Christmas, we said that we would never rest in bringing the best value to our subscribers. The addition of live and archived Invicta programming is going to be of enormous interest to our existing subscribers and bring in new subscribers, too.”

He added: “UFC FIGHT PASS already has subscribers in over 155 countries, which is a huge platform the Invicta athletes. Invicta fighters are now sharing the same stage as elite UFC fighters like Alexander Gustafson, Conor McGregor, Cung Le and Michael Bisping. For any UFC fans that haven’t seen these women compete before – I guarantee they will be blown away when they see what Invicta is all about.”

Invicta FC president Shannon Knapp said: “This is a great day for my company. Invicta will be announcing the first event to be screened on UFCFIGHTPASS.com shortly.

Knapp said: “We are targeting a late-summer event, headlined by a world title fight. This is an historic event for myself, the company and my athletes, and every one of them is going to want to be on this first card.”

With the addition of Invicta being added to UFC Fight Pass, viewers can also get familiar with eight of the TUF 20 competitors who the UFC had acquired the contracts from Invicta specifically for TUF 20 to reign a champion at its new Stawweight Division. It was originally eleven but three of those due to UFC rulings gave them a straight pass into the UFC where they will compete but not under TUF bouts.

Invicta 7 takes places at the Ameristar Casino Hotel, Kansas City on December 7th , where three, yes thats right three title fights takes place along side a full supporting card as you would expexct from the all – female promotion Invicta.
