TUF 22 NEW COACHES ANNOUNCED AS CONOR MCGREGOR AND URIJAH FABER

Interim UFC® Featherweight champion Conor McGregor aims to lead Europe against Urijah Faber and the Americans to victory on The Ultimate Fighter®
The next season of The Ultimate Fighter ® will feature no shortage of star power as interim UFC® featherweight champion “The Notorious” Conor McGregor coaches opposite Team Alpha Male’s Urijah Faber on the 22nd episode of the UFC’s  reality television series.
McGregor Faber TUF 22 Coaches
The Ultimate Fighter®: Team McGregor vs. Team Faber will feature 16 competitors in the lightweight division and, in addition to a UFC contract; national pride will be on the line as McGregor leads eight European hopefuls against the Faber-led American squad. The sixth season to air on FOX Sports 1 (BT Sports in the UK) will kick-off on Wednesday, September 9th with a two-hour season premiere airing at 10 p.m. ET. The season will continue with 11 one-hour shows Wednesdays at 10 p.m. ET.

Since bursting onto the scene in 2013, McGregor (18-2) has taken the MMA world by storm. Declaring in July 2014 “we’re not here to take part; we’re here to take over” when referring to the Irish presence in MMA, the Irish sensation has done exactly that. Originally scheduled to fight Jose Aldo at UFC® 189, McGregor defeated Faber’s friend and training partner Chad Mendes to claim the interim UFC featherweight title Saturday night by second-round TKO. Now he awaits his next fight, a highly anticipated title unification bout with Jose Aldo in the coming months.

The former WEC featherweight champion, Faber (32-8) has been vocal in his disdain for McGregor. Long considered a pioneer for the lighter weight classes, Faber has assembled one of the top gyms in the sport, Team Alpha Male, featuring UFC bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw, No. 2 flyweight Joseph Benavidez and Mendes. Now, he’ll bring his high-powered team to Las Vegas in hopes of leading the Americans past the Europeans.
“Conor McGregor  will not be fighting Urijah Faber. They will be just coaching and mentoring these young fighters. Obviously the best decision was to get Conor McGregor for the Europeans, and Faber’s such a great coach, has an amazing team, and has a lot to offer the U.S team.” Stated Dana White on The Ultimate Fighter 21 Finale last night.
New season of The Ultimate Fighter 22 debuts Wednesday, September 9th on FOX Sports 1 or BT Sports in the UK.

UFC Fight Night Manila Results: Frankie Edgar Has the ‘Answer’ & defeats Urijah Faber

For everything that a fight should be and a fighter, competitor for whom has always carried himself with such grace, Mark Munoz closed his fighting career on a clear, winning, dominant performance over the UK’s Luke Barnatt in what can only be defined as ‘OUTSTANDING’.

The UFC came live from Manila today, where it certainly did not disappoint and had a very emotional farewell to one of the sports most beloved fighters after winning his retirement fight.

In the main event Frankie Edgar literally answered everyone’s ‘answers’ in which he won every single round on the judges scorecards to clearly win over a tough opponent in ‘The california Kid’ Urijah Faber.

The co-main event went as much predicted (in my opinion) ,again, the judges scored every single round to Gegard Mousasi, for which he was tasked with the not so easy Costas Philippou.

For everything that a fight should be and a fighter, competitor for whom has always carried himself with such grace, Mark Munoz closed his fighting career on a clear, winning, dominant performance over the UK’s Luke Barnatt in what can only be defined as ‘OUTSTANDING’.

UK’s Luke Barnatt to face Mark Munoz at UFC MANILA May 16th

UK middleweight, Luke Barnatt has a new opponent in that of ‘The Filipino Wrecking Machine’ Mark Munoz after learning that his original opponent Clint Hester was out injured with a broken foot for their bout at UFC Fight Night MANILA on May 16th.

Barnatt (8-2, UFC 3-2) who is a former TUF standout, was first pick for Team Sonnen and is currently one of the top prospects in the middleweight division,  he will also be looking to get back into the win column after dropping two close split decision losses against Sean Strickland and Roger Narvaez.

Munoz (13-6, UFC 8-6) had been vocal from the start that he wished to be included on this Manila card as soon as it was announced, although recently dropping a loss to Roan Carnerio on UFC 184. Munoz will have all the motivation he needs to be getting back into the win column.

UFC Fight Night Manila is headlined by the featherweight superfight between Frankie Edgar and Urijah Faber at the Mall of Asia Arena on May 16th.
