‘Fight against Nate Diaz isn’t happening now’ Matt Brown

According to Matt Brown’s official Twitter, their scheduled fight will not be happening at UFC 189.

The UFC did announce the fight last week, but as soon as it was announced, Nate Diaz took to his Twitter account to state that he was not approached for that fight and he wants to fight former lightweight Champion Anthony Pettis instead.

Nate Diaz did appear on Monday’s The MMA Hour and explained his reason’s why he tweeted what he did:

It was just kind of like, ‘you’re fighting.’ Well then I guess I’m fighting. It’s all good, it’s in the past, it already happened. I just, I’m not into being tricked into fighting anymore. I think I should have a little more say. I think I’m older now, and like I said, if I’m going to fight, I think it should be worth my while, not just because they say I’m fighting and now I’m fighting. If someone got a hold of me, that’d be great, If not, it’s all good too. I don’t need to fight. Like I said, I don’t need to fight my life away. I’m all good with not fighting, so if they want to work that out, that’d be great. If not, I’ll be watching and tuning into the fights and making sure everything is going good and taking some time off relaxing.

Nate Diaz

The UFC are still to release an official comment on the cancellation of the Brown-Diaz fight but there is also a fourth spot left on that card!

Maybe, just maybe there will be a shock announcement, although as we now know, it will not be Anthony Pettis as he is now scheduled to meet Myles Jury on July 25th at UFC Fight Night Chicago.

Brazil Athletic Commission Overturn Silva vs. Dober fight to a NO CONTEST

After last weekend’s controversial stoppage decision, by referee, Eduardo Herdy at UFC Fight Night 62 in Rio de Janeiro where Herdy had decided to stop the action whilst Drew Dober was actively fighting his way out of an attempted guillotine choke by Leandro Silva, it has emerged now that the Brazilian Athletic commission have overturned the original decision of a win to Silva and made the fight, rightly so to a NO CONTEST bout.

‘I’ve got 99 problems but Bethe aint one’ Ronda Rousey on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon

Watch Ronda Rousey use her trademark move (Armbar) on host Jimmy Fallon, amongst this great, funny interview.
Jimmy Fallon introduced UFC women’s bantamweight champ, Ronda Rousey.

She is currently undefeated. Jimmy Fallon said “You look gorgeous!” and told her that she had a “great name for a fighter.”

She told him “Once I started taking judo lessons, it let a lot of my aggression out.” Her mom had been a judo champion, Ronda told Fallon.

“Where did you think your judo would take you?” Fallon asked her.

Ronda replied that she won a medal in the Olympics, before she got into mixed martial arts. She said that her mom had called the idea “the stupidest idea you’ve ever had.”

While in the ring, Ronda said that she “was completely emotionless. It’s just observations and decisions.”

“Fighting isn’t a man’s thing, it’s a human’s thing,” Ronda stated. “To say that it’s a man’s thing is anti-feminist.”

“They call you the ‘Arm Collector,’” Fallon said, “because you snap people’s arms.”

Ronda asked him “Give me your arm,” and she demonstrated on him what she does in a fight. His “safe word” was “Rumpelstiltskin,” and he said it pretty quickly, once she demonstrated what she does on his arm.

UFC 190 takes place on August 1st at HSBC Centre, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

More In-depth news on the Death of Mexican Wrestler Pedro Aguayo Ramírez

On March 20, 2015, Aguayo wrestled a tag match, teaming with Manik against Rey Mysterio Jr. and Xtreme Tiger at a show in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico. During the match, Mysterio had used a headscissors takedown to propel Aguayo out of the ring, but Aguayo returned to the ring, upon-which Mysterio dropkicked Aguayo in the head to set up for Mysterio’s signature move  the ‘619′ as Aguayo landed on the middle rope. Manik then fell onto the middle rope Aguayo was resting on. At this point, Aguayo appeared to be limp. Mysterio performed the ‘619′ and did not hit any opponent. The match continued, but was eventually finished by Mysterio pinning Manik after a few more spots near Aguayo. Konnan attempted to revive Aguayo at ringside by shaking him. Officials later brought Aguayo out of the ring.

When paramedics arrived, Aguayo was brought to the local Del Prado hospital, where he was pronounced dead around 1:00am on March 21st.

According to the initial announcement from the hospital, Aguayo died from a cervical spine trauma, reportedly as a result of a dropkick by Mysterio Jr. that propelled him forward and caused the ring ropes to snap his neck. The cause of death was later announced as a cardiac arrest, due to a stroke from cervical bleeding.

At the time of the incident Aguayo was not immediately attended to by a doctor and was actually taken from the ring on a piece of plywood instead of a stretcher, which lead to some criticism of the event organizers. The Tijuana wrestling commission later explained that the doctor was backstage, attending to two other injuries that happened during the show. One of those injuries was a spinal injury and they did not want to remove that wrestler from the stretcher he was on, which was why they used the plywood to move Aguayo from the ring. The doctors worked on resuscitating Aguayo for over an hour before declaring him dead.

On March 21st the attorney general for Baja California announced that they would conduct an investigation into the death of Aguayo and the circumstances surrounding it to determine if there was the possibility of any criminal charges to be filed.

Aguayo Jr. was buried in Guadalajara on March 23rd with Konnan and Rey Mysterio Jr. serving as pallbearers. There was also a ceremony that was held at this weekend’s Lucha Underground taping which may air on this week’s episode of El Rey Network. Sexy Star were reported to have led a 10-bell salute for which the cameras were filming.
