In the latest of athlete’s to take to Twitter, I came across UFC female Bantamweight athlete Sarah Kaufman who had this to say:
Although to get the full appreciation you will have to go to Sarah’s Instagram page as it contained a 15 second Instavideo. I have attached three pictures from this video, which is also accompanied by some ‘fitting’ music. Enjoy. 🙂
Guess we will have to wait and see how long Miesha is out for with her Injury from the weekend. If Miesha responds and of course if Sean Shelby is considering the match up at all.
As I was checking my twitter account, the above two, tweets appeared from UFC Bantamweight athlete Jessica Eye. It goes back to when Chris Cyborg said she was ‘dropping down from 145 lbs to 135 lbs’ this was for three times once to beat Ronda Rousey, second time to beat Ronda Rousey again and the third time to prove she is serious about the new weight division. Although ‘Cyborg’ gave a good speech, she has never [to date] delivered, hence Jessica Eye tweeting what she did.

Bellator’s British Invasion has seen a new opponent for newly signed British fighter Paul ‘Semtex’ Daley (35-13), as Welterweight Champion Douglas Lima has been forced out of his bout due to injury.
Daley took to his facebook account earlier stating this:
Paul Daley FB Statement
Nervous, Scared??…..I understand, preparing to fight me…. I would be. It’s ok…. guess you get to have a few more photo shoots with the belt…. My focus has shifted, same date, new opponent…. British Invasion at Bellator 134
The new opponent is Andre “Chatuba” Santos (37-9) . A veteran of the sport in his own right, the Rio De Janeiro fighter has two more wins than Daley in four fewer fights. Santos defeated James Terry at Bellator 129, in what was his first fight on American soil. He now has his sights set on Daley, with hopes to win his seventh straight fight.
Also injury has forced the delay of a heavily anticipated matchup between Bobby Lashley (12-2) and James Thompson (20-14) but Bellator MMA officials have announced a blockbuster fight to replace it in Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal (14-4) vs. Cheick Kongo (22-9-2).
Bellator: British Invasion, which takes place on Friday, February 27, at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn. Main card airs live on Spike TV, while preliminary bouts stream on Spike.com.
In the early hours of Tuesday 20th January 2015, UFC and Bellator MMA veteran Dave Herman [22-6] who most recently competed for Titan FC, was arrested for leading a police chase in Indiana.
Charges were filed by Dekalb County Sheriff Department and states Herman was ‘Speeding without his lights on and did not immediately pull over. Once he did stop, he approached the officers and forced them to use a taser’.
The charges Herman faces include resisting law enforcement with a vehicle, battery against law enforcement and neglect of a dependent.
Now this is where Herman’s wife [Madeleine] steps in, who filmed a good portion of what happened.
UFC light heavyweight champion, Jon Jones, who was found to have traces of the illegal drug cocaine in his system on December 4th last year, prior to his title fight against Daniel Cormier on January 3rd 2015, at UFC 181 in Las Vegas, Nevada has now done a ‘stint’ [one day] in rehab.
UFC fined Jones $25,000 for violating its code of conduct policy and will still to continue to support the champ.
Here is the one on one video interview that was aired as a special on FOXSPORTS 1 Monday night in the states.
Fairfax, Virginia at the Patriot Center is where it is set to go down. The date Saturday April 4th. UFC Fight Night 63 will be in town and two of the top women’s Bantamweight will throw down for the night. Liz Carmouche [9-5] will take on Lauren Murphy [8-1] in what is set to be one of this year’s great fight. Both women have a fairly similar record on paper. Carmouche’s stats according to sherdog are 67% in KO/TKO, 22% in submissions and 11% in her only decision fight. Laurens stats according to sherdog are 75% KO/TKO, 0% in submissions and 25% in decisions for 2 of her fights.[The 0% in submissions is that Lauren chosses her method of a KO/TKO finish in the first 6 of her fights].
What makes this an interesting fight for fans around the world, is the striking ability both women posess on paper and what we have seen them do in the cage. Also both women are very highly skilled on the ground if they choose for the fight to go this way, (we saw this when Carmouche fought Ronda Rousey and Murphy when she fought Sara McMann), every which way you look at this fight, for me, it is without a shadow of a doubt already a ‘fight of the night’ candidate. These women mean business and will leave it all in the cage, no matter what.
