UFC on FOX 16 Chicago Results: Dillashaw TKO’s Barao in the Fourth to retain Championship

The UFC came to Chicago for round two; in the main event it was  T.J. Dillashaw who faced Renan Barao for the 2nd time to see if he could reclaim what was once his, the championship Belt.

But it was again T.J.Dillashaw who, kept onto his belt and standing firm to the naysayers that he won the belt by a fluke last time. Diĺlashaw  held onto the championship belt by defending it from Renan Barao and stopping him in the Fourth Round via TKO, after being in complete control throughout the first three rounds.

In the co-main event we saw Miesha Tate take a unanimous decision over Jessica Eye, for which she will now face the winner of Ronda Rousey Vs. Bethe Corriea who settle their ‘beef’ on August 1st.  I’m sure we will all get to see a Rousey vs Tate Trilogy very soon.

UFC on FOX 16: Dillashaw 135 lbs VS. Barao 135 lbs Official Weigh-In Results

UFC comes from Chicago for round two in the main event headlines in the form of T.J. Dillashaw who faces Renan Bararo for the 2nd time for the Belt.

In the co-main event we have the females leading the way ‘Cupcake’ vs ‘Evil’, to anyone else that will be Miesha Tate vs. Jessica Eye and the winner may also be looking at a future spot of facing the Queen of that division once Ronda Rousey has fought Bethe Corriea on August 1st.

As I was checking  my twitter account, the above two, tweets appeared from  UFC Bantamweight athlete Jessica Eye. It goes back to when Chris Cyborg said she was ‘dropping down from 145 lbs to 135 lbs’ this was for three times once to beat Ronda Rousey,  second time to beat Ronda Rousey again and the third time to prove she is serious about the new weight division. Although ‘Cyborg’ gave a good speech, she has never [to date] delivered,  hence Jessica Eye tweeting what she did.

Holly Holm signing her UFC Contract
Holly Holm signing her UFC Contract

Holly Holm has now officially signed with the UFC.  After months of speculation, Holm has put pen to paper and signed an official contract.

President, Dana White, announced via Twitter by tweeting out the following:

Welcome to the UFC Holy Holm whilst holding up the picture below:

Welcome to the UFC Holly Holm
Welcome to the UFC Holly Holm

Holm [7-0] has a considerable amount of experience as an ex-champion boxer.  She trains out of the famed Jackson’s MMA Gym and has been seen trading punches and kicks with UFC Light Heavyweight champ Jon Jones.

Holm is currently recouping from a broken arm, sustained from her last bout against Juliana Werner at Legacy FC 30, on April 4th but looks to be fighting fit around October/November time.

For now, we can all let the rumours carry on as to whom we think, Holm’s first opponent will be? For me personally it makes sense for Jessica Eye but that is just my opinion!

The Women’s Bantamweight Division is now getting more interesting with the latest two additions:

Lauren Murphy and Holy Holm.

Jessica Eye and UFC release statement about failed drugs test at UFC 166 and news on her UFC 170 clash with Alexis Davis

Jessica Evil Eye

Last week  the news broke that UFC Bantamweight athlete Jessica ‘Evil’ Eye had her first UFC win against Sarah Kaufman overturned to a No Decision. Eye was said to be punished with a year-long probationary suspension and a fine of $1875.

The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations revealed that the change came as a result of a failed drug test by Jessica Eye after her controversial split decision  win against Sarah Kaufman at UFC 166.

Finally on Wednesday night in the states the UFC released the following statement:

“The UFC received word of the fully probated suspension and fine issued to Jessica Eye by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. The UFC intends to honor the probation, which will not force Eye to miss her scheduled bout at UFC 170.”

Jessica Eye released this statement:

“I was recently alerted to the fact that I was issued a fully probated suspension and fine by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. While I intend to discuss with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation the overturning of my victory at UFC 166, I have accepted the terms of the probation and intend to compete at UFC 170 on Feb. 22. I pride myself on following the rules and representing my family, teammates, sponsors, and fans in the best light possible. I apologize for any distractions this has caused.”

Not letting this take any focus of Eye’s humbling appreciation and the love of her father she tweeted the following:

Jessica Eye will take on Alexis Davis at The Mandalay Bay Center  in Las Vegas as planned in two weeks time at UFC 170 on February 22nd showing on the prelim card on Fox Sports 1 network.
