UFC 186 added a women’s bantamweight fight to their card yesterday; Kaufman Vs Davis ‘The Trilogy’.
Sarah Kaufman [17-2, 1 NC] VS Alexis Davis [16-6], Kaufman has already beaten Davis twice in her career, the first time in 2007 [Davis’ MMA debut] and the second time via Majority decision in 2012 at Strikeforce: Tate Vs Rousey.
Kaufman Vs Davis is headlined by Bantamweight Champion T.J. Dillashaw and former champion Renan Barao, also just announced Demetrious Johnson will face Kyoji Horiguchi at Montreal’s Bell Centre, April 25th.
It was announced that Benson Henderson would be facing Brandon Thatch in the Main Event at UFC Fight Night 60, replacing the injured Stephen Thompson in a welterweight match [170 lbs].
There was [including me] a double take. Why, well Benson Henderson is making a run at the lightweight division [155 lbs], and already has a fight booked on April 4th at UFC Fight Night 63 Fairfax; but kudos to ‘smooth’ Benson Henderson who has saved the Main Event on two weeks notice by going up a weight division for this fight.
According to his Twitter, UFC middleweight fighter Michael Bisping tweeted out the following :
Bisping Tweet
After his [Diaz] defeat at the Weekend, it was stated he went Into the fight Injured with his left arm and was also considering what he would like to do next [due to the fact that, yes he is on a losing streak but his last fights have gone to decisions, which in his own words ‘ How do they score fights nowadays’. ]
Also, Nick will now have to answer to an NSAC hearing due to him failing his post fight medical after his five round fight with Anderson Silva [for which Anderson Silva failed a pre fight medical test before the fight].
Also this was the first time Nick had moved up to 185 lbs – Middleweight division as he is a 170 lbs welterweight fighter. Believing this to be a one time ‘fight’ at the 185 lbs – Middleweight division, but this is Nick Diaz we are talking about!
I, for one hope everything works out for Nick Diaz and he gets his break he actually deserves.
As for Michael Bisping wanting to ‘fight’ him – only time will tell.
In the latest of athlete’s to take to Twitter, I came across UFC female Bantamweight athlete Sarah Kaufman who had this to say:
Although to get the full appreciation you will have to go to Sarah’s Instagram page as it contained a 15 second Instavideo. I have attached three pictures from this video, which is also accompanied by some ‘fitting’ music. Enjoy. 🙂
Guess we will have to wait and see how long Miesha is out for with her Injury from the weekend. If Miesha responds and of course if Sean Shelby is considering the match up at all.
It was announced Wednesday evening [Early hours of this morning in the UK] in the United States and that it will air on FOX Sports 1, the UFC are coming to Manila on May 16th.
Home to boxing stars Manny Pacquiao and Nonito Donaire, combat sports fans in the Philippines have always welcomed the UFC athletes with opens arms, showing their support in the masses, so it is no strange fit that a date has now been set for an event.
Established contenders Mark Munoz, John Dodson and Chris Cariaso will be proudly representing their Filipino roots, where there are plenty of options for UFC matchmakers .

After the news submerged that Bobby Green was out of his UFC fight with Jorge Masvidal on April 4th, after sustaining a Torn Quad, he is now on the road to recovery after having surgery for the injury, Friday just gone (January 23rd).
Below is a picture, but be warned the image is very graphic and not for those with a delicate nature.

Loving the smily face that has been drawn on Bobby’s leg 🙂
Wishing Bobby all the best in his road to recovery.
